Yo! "CONTEST FULL" When It Wasn't? READ HERE!!

This month's Secret Agent is already displaying all sorts of awesomeness. Listen up!

If you were one of the unfortunate submitters who received a rejection telling you that the contest was already full when it actually had just opened, YOU ARE INVITED TO SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY TO BE INCLUDED IN THE CONTEST. Because our SA said so.

THERE ARE STIPULATIONS, though! Because I have to monitor this sort of thing carefully. This offer is meant for those of you who:
  • Got a "entry rejected" email stating that the contest was already full--right at the beginning
  • Posted here letting me know about it
(I think there are five of you. Can't be totally sure until I hear from you.)

IF YOU ARE ONE OF THESE PEOPLE, please do the following as soon as possible:

1. Submit your entry AS NORMAL.
2. Then, send me an email at facelesswords(at)gmail.com with "SA Loves Me" in the subject line. Please list your EMAIL ADDRESS, your SCREEN NAME, and the post under which you commented last night or this morning letting me know that you were "closed out" of the contest.

If your email/screen name line up with my record of your original entry from last night, you're in!

PLEASE NOTE: This offer IS NOT open to folks who received rejections for ANY OTHER REASON. (Which is why I'm being all administrative and asking for lots of information.)

  1. Oh man. I live in france and I seriously set my alarm for 12:50 am so I could wake up and try and submit to this contest. I tried three times thinking maybe my clock might be off by a few minutes but every time I got the 'we've already got 25' message. I didn't bother posting to complain because I just figued my rejection had something to do witih me being inept (again) Can I still submit it here?

  2. Oh cool! I'm one of them! Okay, now let's just see if I can follow directions properly, lol.

Thank you so much, Authoress! ♥

  3. sigh. I tried both. And was very on time for the 7p and was rejected...but I didn't post about it. Kudos to the squeaky wheels. I'm excited to the see the entries. Good luck everyone.

  4. I just wanted to be sure - I got an email stating that I was an alternate from the first window of submissions. So am I eligible for this SA or am I still an alternate? :)

  5. Authoress, I posted a couple of comments on the "Submissions are still open" post last night. I'm the one who sent my email to the letter 3 or 4 times and never received an auto-reply or rejection. Is there anything I can do to squeak in?

  6. Authoress, surely people can forward to you their wrong "rejection" email? The date and time on it would be the confirmation that they were unjustly rejected. (Because, honestly, it's not in some people's nature to post a comment asking or complaining about something.)

  7. Dear Authoress. Dear, Dear Authoress.

I don't know how you do this. But just reading all the mishaps and confusion makes my day. Even when I'm one of the frustrated souls that has problems with the system.

Trish is undoubtedly one of the funniest people I know. I nearly peed myself when I read her comments.

You are appreciated more than you'll ever know, Authoress. I bet you go through lots of bath salts and candles just trying to destress your daily life.

Thanks so much! Can't wait to start reading the entries.

  8. Oh man... I didn't post any sort of comment because I didn't think anything was wrong, lol... Even though I submitted at almost noon exactly yesterday and got the 'already full' message. This was my first time submitting, so I just assumed this contest was -that- ridiculously popular! Oh well... better luck next time, I suppose. It sure was nice of the SA to allow for even more entries in the first place, though! I can't wait to find out who it is.

  9. You are amazing, Authoress. I don’t know how you find time to write. I’m just counting my blessings that I got in because not long after I received a phone call from my son. His car wouldn’t start and he was about to take his toddler to an important paediatrician appointment. I was still in my pyjamas, so I dressed and dashed off. If I’d got that call a minute later, I wouldn’t have seen your new post and would have missed out. So I thank you, Authoress, for being so kind, and trying to help us all.

I was only in the car three seconds when my grandson threw up all over me, and the seat, but I kept smiling because I’d made the contest. Serves me right anyway. I shouldn’t have given him that packet of marshmallows to hold.

Hey Melody. I’m glad I made you laugh. The things we do when we panic! Yipes! I couldn’t believe I did that. I felt worse than if I’d seen a monster. But imagine how poor Authoress felt when she read our posts and still hadn’t received any entries for the 7.00pm window. I bet she looked like she’d seen a monster too.

  10. I freaked. o_O

And back when I was a preschool teacher, a kid threw up all over me, too. My arm, mostly. Out on the playground. I freaked then, too.

I mean, REALLY freaked. Because puke and I don't get along at all. One of the other teachers had to take care of me. Forget the sick kid.

  11. Authoress, that just cracked me up. How funny! I’m imagining all this. The poor kid left standing in the playground and you being escorted to the sick room, wearing your red hat and screaming. LOL.

My daughter-in-law and I didn’t want to take the three-year-old into the pediatrician covered in spew, but we were running late. Then I spied a recycled charity shop near the hospital. We dashed in and bought a whole new outfit, so instead of him turning up for his appointment wearing his own nice clothes, he looked like Oliver Twist.

  12. Hey Authoress,

I just saw this post so I think I might be too late to take advantage or your kindness but I'll give it a shot. I had been locked out at 7:00 pm 48 seconds at which point I threw up my arms and decided that it would be easier to win the lottery. I'm so relieved to know that there was an error in the system!
