Friday Fricassee

It's funny, this being-anonymous thing. When I write something from my deepest heart, like Wednesday's post, your responses are equally heart-deep, and as transparent as words-on-a-screen can be. It's like we're sitting in a coffee shop together, having an honest, vulnerable conversation about our aspirations and hopes and passions and dreams and angsts and...all of it.

And you don't even know my name. (Of course, with the plethora of creative screen names around here, I may not know yours, either!)

The truth is, though--and those of you who do know me personally can probably vouch for this--Authoress is as "me" as it comes.  Erm, as I come.  The only part of "me" you're not getting is the personal details.  (Actually, you've got enough of those to real-ify me.  You could probably write a 1-page essay on me and it would be fairly accurate.)

(But please don't do that.)

Anyway. I appreciate your letting me know when my words resonate with you. And your eagerness to share your own thoughts.

Aren't words wonderful? (I'm grinning. This is such an incredibly dorky Writer Moment that I can't help it.)

As usual, I missed my blog anniversary date. Miss Snark's First Victim is now FOUR YEARS OLD! The FIRST POST EVER appeared on April 4, 2008. (What an exciting beginning, huh?) The rest is history.

So, a quick Here's What's Coming Up for you, since there are a few things in the line-up.  Letting you know ahead of times helps me keep my ducklets in a row.

COMING UP IN APRIL:

  • SECRET AGENT CONTEST (next week!)
  • CHARMING INTERVIEW WITH AUTHOR-AND-AGENT AMMI-JOAN PAQUETTE
  • A VERY SPECIAL CONTEST JUST FOR MYSTERY WRITERS! (adult and YA)
  • AN IN-HOUSE "WHAT'S BROKEN" CRIT ROUND (remember those?)
  • MY BIRTHDAY!

Well, yeah.  Thought I'd throw that in there.  In case Mr. A is reading this.

Okay, then!  Thanks for being a vibrant, life-giving part of my life, and have a glorious weekend!

  8. Wow- MSFV is 4 years old already? Remember how the four years in high school seemed to take for freaking ever, and now four years go by in a snap? Hard to believe you've been on the "air" for so long. Congratulations on a very successful venture!

And yay for MSFV being an Aries, as am I and possibly you? You do fit the Aries profile- we'd love to claim you!

  11. Aww, it doesn't matter if we know who you are as long as we know who you are. Did that make sense? Whatever. You're awesome.

Happy Birthday, whenever that may be, and a very happy Blogiversary. This blog has lasted so long because you care about your readers and your readers adore you - be proud of that achievement!
