It's obvious they've been friends for a long time (the cop from 4 years ago) and their relationship shows that. How they can just launch into comfortable territory (the arm punching, verbal jabs) after being separated for a while.

It's great!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3615675676021392217.post-73510004049615366772008-07-31T14:08:00.000-04:002008-07-31T14:08:00.000-04:00I'm guessing Lora is the SC. The piece as a whole was good but if Charlotte was the secondary, I don't know if she came across that strongly.Esther.Jadehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11552124058522436295noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3615675676021392217.post-83151851359691653602008-07-30T16:38:00.000-04:002008-07-30T16:38:00.000-04:00Lora seems like a fun character, in a supportive r...Lora seems like a fun character, in a supportive roll. I feel like the narrative jumps between Lora and Charlotte from paragraph to paragraph. For the longest time, I couldn't figure out how Lora knows Daniel's name when she acts like she's never seen him -- until I realized that his name is coming from Charlotte's head.

The dialogue flows well and feels realistic. Lora seems like a critical friend, at least from Charlotte's thoughts. If Lora is supposed to be the SC, I feel like I'm getting a better picture of Charlotte from the scene.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3615675676021392217.post-1189746402765205232008-07-30T14:38:00.000-04:002008-07-30T14:38:00.000-04:00Unfortunately, I didn't think the characters' dial...Unfortunately, I didn't think the characters' dialogue was unique enough to determine who the main and secondary characters were. Ha!

This is okay, though I didn't get much sense of the women's relationship from this excerpt. It's tough to judge something out of context, but I didn't feel much from this as far as character goes. I think the secondary could be developed more, seen better. The dialogue doesn't do enough in this example.Karen Duvallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01839711547501582977noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3615675676021392217.post-18360435751417583372008-07-30T12:16:00.000-04:002008-07-30T12:16:00.000-04:00The dialogue was really good. Unless that last line was Charlotte's thoughts about Lora. If it's Charlotte's thoughts IMO it should be clarified.

Otherwise, very good. Good dialog, good sense of the characters and their relationship as well as what happened to bring them to this point.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3615675676021392217.post-56097885304461717652008-07-30T11:46:00.000-04:002008-07-30T11:46:00.000-04:00Hah, well done.
