A pitch tells us what your main character wants, why she wants it, and what she will need to do to get it.

Good luck!
HollyHolly Bodgerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08218140291198124199noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3615675676021392217.post-52390061544213310682018-03-29T18:41:00.878-04:002018-03-29T18:41:00.878-04:00I agree with Barbara above - this read more like a...I agree with Barbara above - this read more like a query or synopsis. I think the pitch would actually be more successful if it started at "the young woman who is sacrificed..." Before that, it doesn't read like a pitch. I like to read book jacket blurbs to get a sense of the type of language used to hook. It just kind of explains to us what the story is. I agree with above, we need to see it from the eyes of the main character and know what the stakes are. I do like the comps and the idea, but I need to know more about the character to be invested.
Loretta Chefhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14614456326479128984noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3615675676021392217.post-42743346574899590182018-03-29T12:11:58.287-04:002018-03-29T12:11:58.287-04:00I agree with the previous commenter. It reads more like an explanation of your story, rather an exciting tease. Think movie trailer.Barbarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15769803733067838372noreply@blogger.com
