I also suffer from severe dyslexia and grew up at a time when like Henry when you didn’t know what was causing you not able to read or even write and the professionals didn’t even have a name for it. Math was horrendous for me, turning numbers all around and never getting anything correct and my mother was a math major in college. The thing that I found to help me was comic books. I could see the pictures and the actions it depicted and work out the words. It took me years to find trick to overcome most of the problems, enough to with the help of a wonderful wife achieve my goal and get my doctorate.

I thought I would never be able to write a novel and have done just that and working on a few more. My first is a MG and I have made my MC have dyslexia but he uses comic books to overcoming his problems. There are many of us out there and lots of them stay in the closet because they feel ashamed for their inability to read or write. To this day, I listen to audiobooks (sometimes 3 at a time) to enjoy the wonders of books I couldn’t read or to learn what the writers I want to be like. It is people like Henry Winkler that bring this to the forefront and I hope that will encourage those like him and me to never give up.
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13820672316837455434noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3615675676021392217.post-3681854126071035432017-02-01T18:08:49.302-05:002017-02-01T18:08:49.302-05:00I didn't know this!
