F2S 60

I got dressed for my first date in 16 years at the same time my ex-husband was across town passing a kidney stone. Divine justice.

  1. Sounds like chick lit, another genre that's not my forte, but I think the hook is interesting and I would at least read more.

  8. Love! It feels fresh. I like chick-lit in small doses of non-clichéd text, but this one gives me a good feeling.

  9. Fun and hooking.

The first sentence is a little too long. I'd prefer a few words cut, like:

"My first date in 16 years and my ex was busy passing a kidney stone."

  11. This IS my genre and I like this. I might take out the 'across town' part though... who cares where the rotten scoundrel is now? :)

  17. Not sure I'm hooked. It feels like there's two POVs going on here, or at least an omniscient POV, but neither serve to really draw me in.

  19. HAHAHA! I love it. The wry humor is great. I would keep reading. As long as the narrator doesn’t turn completely vindictive and bitchy, I’d be fine. Very nice.

  21. I don't read chick lit, but this seems on target for that genre. Nice job.
