Friday Fricassee

Hello, dear ones!

I'm taking another week off.  This week has been a bust; I have been admittedly lousy at giving myself a FULL break, as Josh would attest to.  So I'm going to try to do better next week.

I've got "stuff" in the works for MSFV, though!  Things will get rolling again quickly once I return.

Two quick things:

1.  AGENT:DEMISTIFIED, my eBook-for-all-aspiring-authors, is now only $5.99.

2.  Despite my vacation, AUTHORESS EDITS remains open for business.  If you are considering hiring me to edit your partial, don't feel like you have to wait until I'm back in the blog-o-sphere.  I place projects in my spreadsheet in the order in which they are received, so go ahead and get in the queue.

And that's all for now.

Are you writing?  Are you finding balance?  Are you keeping your dreams alive?

Hope so.  I'll see you when I get back.

  1. Take as long as you want. A week is nothing; I'd suggest a month if I could go that long without reading your posts!

I took a long break from writing in an attempt to get some order in my life, putting my creativity towards projects that were needed around the house, like FINALLY painting my 1960's Harvest Gold bathroom that made me look like I had jaundice whenever I looked in the mirror, and it's been good. I missed writing, but the break was needed to get some perspective. Plus I no longer look like I have jaundice. :)

And- out of the blue- a new story appeared. Not my normal genre, but a marketable one, which I need. I have it all outlined, in my version of outlining, and just need the time to connect the dots!

Chillax and enjoy! We'll be here when you get back!

  2. I know it's tough allowing yourself to stop. I usually give myself a day or two off when I really need it, but I find within a matter of hours, I'm feeling antsy to get back to the world. By day 2, I'm feeling like some sort of writing prisoner, doomed to a hell of no creativity allowed. :)

I hope you're distracting yourself with a lot of reading, or your edit work is keeping you busy. Enjoy the nice weather outside or throw yourself into your ballet classes?

I'm writing, started on a project of my heart that seems to be a completely different genre than I ever thought I'd write, and I'm pleased (and surprised to say) that I'm really enjoying it. I'm still in the "word vomit" stage, where words just fall out of me, waiting for the wall.

Enjoy your weekend! Whenever you're ready to come back <3

  3. Take a break.
    You deserve it.

My word count/day of late has been dismal, embarrassing. Like exercise, my heart isn't always in it. I know it will be again and then the writing, I hope, will be better. I try not to force myself, so I don't grow to hate it.

Have some chocolate and wine, or wine and wine works too.

    Bill
