Friday Fricassee

Well, folks, the entries are in.  The slush reading continues.  And the days creep closer to the Baker's Dozen Agent Auction.

Thank you all for being wonderful during the submissions process.  There weren't any real glitches--just some confusion and questions here and there.  You were all wonderful.

Adult category winners will be emailed on November 15 (one week from today!).  YA/MG category winners will be emailed on November 22.

And, yes, Jodi and I have been having a wonderful time reading the slush together.  I honestly couldn't do it without her.  We are so like-minded (most of the time) that it's true teamwork.  Effortless.

Once, Mr. A walked in to chat with us for a moment (because, yanno, he likes Jodi, too).  When he made his parting comment, Jodi and I replied by saying exactly the same thing at exactly the same time--with exactly the same vocal inflections.

It was beautiful and terrifying.  (Don't you love my melodrama?)  In short, we really are like one person with two brains.  (Or one brain with two people...)

Anyway.  Have a glorious weekend.  See you next week!

  1. Thank you both for hosting this contest. I'm biting my nails, which I've never done before, and Nov. 15 can't come soon enough. Have fun in the slush!

  3. Probably going to sound totally pedantic here, but Plato defined friendship as the discovery of your soul's other half occupying another body.

Maybe you DON'T want to share that with Mr. A. He might find it daunting!

So great to have an excellent partner in writer-crime!

  5. Thanks Jodi and Authoress!! I gather the rest is in your hands--not a bot --with choosing the entries for Baker's Dozen?

  6. Yes. We would never trust a bot to choose the winners for us. :)

I'm an identical twin and this happens to us all the time. It's awesome because it always creeps people out who don't know us very well.

And woo!! Can't wait to see the winning entries!

  8. Authoress. You and Miss Jodi are probably two of the most generous, and not to mention BRAVEST, gals out there to take on this task. I commend you. You definitely take the "lift as you climb" mentality to heart and I love it.

    Cheers!
