TITLE: THE BRAVEST OF THEM ALL
GENRE: YA Light Fantasy

As a Maiden, Verabelle is chosen to jump off a cliff and transform into one of the magical guardians of her fairytale land.

But there is no transformation. Only bones and tarnished Maiden brooches litter the shore.
And Verabelle doesn't intend to die.

  9. Is this only the setup? It reads like your entire novel is her deciding if she should jump or not, and while that is interesting, it's not much of a plot. If you're saying that she DOES jump and it's then that she realizes that she's probably going to die (because of the bones), that's great but I still want to know what happens next.

    1. Hi Holly! Thank you so much for the feedback and question. Yes, this is the set up to the first plot point, where its discovered that this entire ritual is built on a lie. The rest of the novel moves forward from there once the pretty fairytale shimmer disappears and the dark underbelly is revealed.
