Friday Fricassee

Whew!

That's all I'm saying.  Thank you for a fun week.  And for celebrating with me.

And now?  Onward.

On Monday, I'll post the submission guidelines for this month's Secret Agent contest.

And I might have one more small fun birthday thing.  Might.

(My real birthday is in April, too, so I might as well milk this.  Right?)

As for the non-blog me?  I'm happy to report that I hit 50,000 words on my WIP this week.  And equally happy to report that my MG novel will be going on sub next week.

Yes!  Out into the world of nice-editors-with-sharp-teeth you go!  Fly!  Be free!

I love this story and absolutely adore its characters.  (And since Adam Heine has told me that these are now among his all-time favorite MG characters, I love them even more.  Because Adam Heine is an amazing critter.  And person.)

So, yes.  I'm pleased to get it out there.

I'm also pleased to report that I'm on my way to my first ballet class since The Dreadful Injury.  I'm only going to do barre work, and then sit out for the rest of class.  My teacher's a bit nervous (my klutziness is impossible to hide during ballet class!), but she's going to work with me to make sure I don't re-injure myself.

I can't tell you how thrilled I am to be wearing a leotard this morning!

All that to say -- life is good!  Have a fabulous weekend, and I'll see you on Monday!

  3. I am sending Middle Grade Mafioso vibes your way as you go on sub. With The Don behind you, you can't go wrong.

Glad, too, you are back at ballet after The Dreadful Injury.

  4. Congrats on the MG news! Hopefully the sharp-toothed editors will eat it up (in a good way). ;-)

Best of luck in ballet! May your injury not bother you and may you not injure yourself again--ever! :)

  8. Oh gee. I'd love to be able to do ballet. I wish I could play piano. I wish I could play guitar.

Who knows, maybe the world lost a great talent by my neglect to pursue a career... I did at one stage (I was a geek kid with a great sense of drama)want to be an opera singer when I twelve.

I was, however, a natural comedian and can see the funny side of things so applying that to writing has worked well for me.

You don't get prizes for comedy, but making people laugh is such a pleasure.
