F2S 16

I never considered myself the type to read another person's mail. In my defense, my roommate did throw the envelope away without even opening it.

  1. i like this! gives us the idea that this person is curious, has a sense of humor, and is about to get him/herself into a bit of trouble.

  2. I like that we drop right into the character's head. I'd read more.

  5. This was fantastic. I'd definitely read more to find out what was in the discarded envelope. I also think it's something that we all can relate to. We don't think we're these horrible people that would go through someone else's mail, but when it's right there in the trash...oh, wait, maybe that's just me. :) Either way, it was great.

  8. ...the type WHO'D read... <- I think that reads smoother.

I don't mind this as an opening, and I'm certainly curious enough to keep reading, but I'm really hoping that this letter is majorly important to the plot :) If so, great opening! :)

I agree with gypsywitch about dropping right into the character's head. Love that! :-)
