So far, I love it. It has a great starting rhythm for a picture book. Also, I’m partial to stories about cakes. Tee-hee. I write about them at every opportunity, so this would hook me.
I've heard rhyming picture books are difficult to do, but I think this is really charming and I like it! The only thing is I also tripped over "it will be." I think the rhythm was a little different than the first line.

ReplyDeleteIf the cake gtes huge, then I think this is fine. If it's just going to be a regular size cake, you might reconsider.

Love the image. The only thing that bothered me is I stumbled over the "It will" for some reason. Like the second setence was just one beat too long.
