Am I right that it's okay to enter a Secret Agent contest even if you've been querying and it's possible this agent has already rejected the query?
I was thinking of entering my father's historical novel for him (he's not very Internet savvy, so it's not the kind of thing he'd do himself!) but he has been querying the manuscript on and off for a while.
I tried to use the submission form, but for some reason it wouldn't let me paste anything into the space for the excerpt. I've never had that problem before; any idea what might be causing it?
In any case, I emailed the submission instead -- I hope the formatting comes through okay.

Yep, that's fine! I think it's safe to say that most people who enter the SAs are already querying. :)

ReplyDeleteI stumbled across your blog and wondered if I need to place the YA in front of the genre on the submission form or is that a given.
The form doesn't care where you put it, but standard is YA comes first.
