    I was a bit confused at first. From reading "Eunice's father has just died; she had been transgendered, and Eunice is in her lover's kitchen."

    I thought Eunice was transgendered so the story didn't read well. However upon reading it again, I realized the father was transgendered. Then the story made sense to me.

    I found this line very telling about Eunice..

    "Eunice looks down. "I missed all the good stuff," she says. "Tell me why you loved her. So I can maybe feel like I'd have loved those things, too. Things about – not about my dad. But about Caitlin."

    It shows her inner struggle with accepting her father's gender change.

    It needs some editing on the first line or two... It's just my opinion, but I didn't like the words repeated.

    However I did care about Eunice and would read more.
