Good News for Adult Entrants

Jodi and I finished ahead of schedule!  The 25 winners will be notified THIS MONDAY, November 7, instead of a week later as originally announced.

I will send the emails from facelesswords(at)gmail.com.  Please be sure I'm in your address book NOW.  If you don't receive an email from me on Monday, it means your entry was not selected as one of the 25 winners.

Thank you ALL for giving us the privilege of reading your work.  Jodi and I don't take this lightly.  (Well, okay. We do have FUN. But we take the slush part seriously.)

  5. One last question - so are all these entries going into the bot for a lottery? I think I'm confused about that last point.

  7. @macaronipants: As far as I understood, for the Baker's Dozen, Jodie and Authoress preselect the entries like in a real agency. The 25 they think are best will go to auction. The raffle system is only for the Secret Agent rounds.

  8. Cat is right. There is no lottery involved. Jodi and I are reading each entry as though it were a submission to an agency.

  9. Congrats on getting done ahead of what you'd planned. I should think it'll help towards easing the load for the YA/MG portion.

And ease some stomachs a week earlier, no doubt. ^_^

  11. Authoress, you and Jodi rock. I know the amount of work you put in on the slush reading, and I'm grateful to have been a part of it. Getting the news a week in advance helps my timetables, too.

  14. Oh! Thank you for reading through the entries and keeping the 25 spots even though it didn't fill up.
I'll breathe in four days, whether I make it or not ...
The color of your blog is milk chocolate and dark chocolate. You deserve both!
How can some of your followers help you out or make another sister site for adult genres? I would be happy to help you ...

  16. I thought of a question as I imagined checking my email all day on Monday.
Will the emails be sent out at one time at 9:00am EST and not throughout the day?
(I am the type to refuse defeat until 5:00pm)haha
I am deeply grateful for this opportunity you have designed!

  18. Authoress - you are so wonderful. I send you a delectable slice of virtual flourless bittersweet chocolate cake, layered with a thick slab of dark chocolate truffle, underneath a bounding heap of milk chocolate mousse, all hidden under a silken skirt of ganuache.
    Hope it was yummy!
