And I'm going to play this time, too. I've submitted and will be critting along with the rest of you.
A whole new level of fun for me!
And I've now got a HECK of a lot of empathy for that 250 word limit. No wonder you all whine about it! I mean...that was hard.
*grin*
Entries will be posted tomorrow morning.
Empthy is good, but so are strict guidelines. It's hard to choose 250 words, but it also makes you examine a short scene much more closely than you normally would. That alone is a very interesting exercise.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to reading the entries!
Yay! Exciting!
ReplyDeleteI love these exercises!
Yay!
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to see what everyone came up with.
I hope you learned from some of our past mistakes...DON'T OVER-EDIT!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait!
:) Terri
Oh goodie! You mean we get to savage Authoress' writing this time too? My life is now complete. ;-)
ReplyDelete(Seriously, I love these things and can't wait to see everyone's submissions. I always learn SO MUCH in Authoress' velvet-lined torture chamber. :-) )
I may be on sporadically during this episode, sadly. We need to get out of the way of Hurricane Ike by tomorrow, but I'll be glued to the blog as often as possible!
Savage? SAVAGE??
ReplyDeleteBut I'm the mistress of my velvet-lined torture chamber. You wouldn't do that to me, would you???
Ohhhh, the angst...
:P
And Terri, I so had to not make myself do just that (over-edit). I did have to remove an entire sentence because the excerpt was too long, which of course bothered me to no end.
Couldn't bellyache about it, though, since I made the rules...
:)
Authoress,
ReplyDeleteI respectfully disagree with you. It's YOUR blog...YOU can do anything you want, groan, moan, complain, gripe, cuss yourself for your unbending rules...ahem.
Not that ANY of us have EVER partaken in any of those things previously listed, of course.
Oh, and I just had to add that I'm sure your husband would LOVE to know that your new form of address shall forever more be "Mistress of the velvet-lined torture chamber".
:) Terri
I always wondered how Mr and Mrs. Authoress decorated house... velvet. Well. Gracious goodness me!
ReplyDeleteI did edit both scenes I put in, but they probably needed the editing. We shall see if either work out of context.
