That is crazy, I clicked send at 5:59:59 and 3 minutes later it says your full, either people are sending them before 6pm EST. Or else there is a lapse in time from servers to servers. Bummed out yet again.
As far as I know, those who send before the time specified are not accepted. I sent mine 6pm on the dot, and made it. Perhaps you're right,de la O. Perhaps there's a lasped of time from server-to-server.
Best of luck to us all for the Dec. contest! It's going to be exciting and nerve-wracking.
de la O - No. I'm in central. I did mine at 6:00 EDT on the dot and was the very first one.
I also use the same email server as she does (gmail) and have reliable internet. I think it's a combo of a few things, but it mostly matters that the slots probably filled up in a manner of seconds.
Sorry, know it sucks. Believe me, I missed the first two. Sorry, love. :(
1. People who send early are auto-rejected by the bot.
2. There is no way to account for server lag. Nothing anyone can do about this.
3. I'm sorry for the frustration of not making it in. I never dreamed the logline critiques would be THIS popular. I shudder to think of what the actual contest will be.
You have nothing to apologize for!!! You rock for doing all this for us. You're taking time out of your day that you totally don't have to. It sucks missing the deadlines, but there's nothing to be done about it. People should just appreciate your time and stop complaining. Those of us who didn't make it can just sit back and do our own critiquing.
de la O - I'm on the other side of the world and I got in, so I don't think geographical location matters. I'm guessing it's down to internet and a great whopping dollop of luck. Hopefully yours will return in time for the actual auction. That's going to be brutal.
I got in! I got in! Number 1!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I clicked send right as the clock changed, but I missed it this time. Darn!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to read those that did make it. =)
Don't you usually post that submissions are open first? I was waiting for that post and it never came up.
ReplyDeleteFast is an understatement! Whoa! I missed it again!

ReplyDeleteI am on the West Coast, it would be interesting to see if most of the winners are on the east coast or not?
